Rev. Leslie Gabriel Mezei is an interfaith minister, of the Universal Worship, founded by Hazrat Inayat Khan who brought a universal form of Sufism to the West a hundred years ago. He is Founding Publisher of the free Interfaith Unity News (www.interfaithunity.ca) which in its ninth year goes to some 1,300 people by e-mail. He has been active with many interfaith organizations. He is a Facilitator, Coordinator, and Trainer for the Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream Symposium (www.awakeningthedreamer.org) . He has been a Professor of Information Sciences at the University of Toronto. A Jewish Holocaust survivor, on the spiritual path he has experienced practices of Sufism, Himalayan Meditation, Buddhism, Creation Spirituality, Aboriginal Traditions, and others. His story From Mourning to Light was published in “Awakening the Spirit, Inspiring the Soul: 30 Stories of Interspiritual Discovery in the Community of Faiths” 2004, edited by Brother Wayne Teasdale and Martha Howard, MD. He has been awarded a Golden Rule Ambassador Award by the Scarboro Missions, Toronto, a Peace Medal by the Ethiopian Interfaith Peace-Building Initiative, and a Golden Heart Award by the Sufi Order International.
