We will focus in today's session on Holistic Science.
This universe is of mind and matter. The scope of modern physics is matter only, mind is outside its scope. The ultimate finding of physics is that the perceptible universe of matter originates from imperceptible energy.
According to the core wisdom of metaphysics and human scripture, the universe of matter and mind results from an imperceptible reality. Although nameless, this reality is named differently as the Real, Ultimate Reality, Tao, spirit, Godhead, Al Haqq, Brahman, Ein Sof, the Absolute etc.
Spirit by the core spiritual wisdom of religion is an indivisible union of consciousness manifested as mind and energy manifested as matter. Energy and consciousness being inseparable, matter and mind are inseparable as well. Energy manifests body on the exterior and consciousness as the mind on the interior. The interior drives the behaviour of the exterior.
We usually think of animate life forms having a mind running its behaviour. In fact according to physics, the interior of inanimate matter defines its outer behaviour implicitly assigning a mind to matter. It is only that physics does not use the narrative of mind in connection with matter which it regards as mindless.
Our research shows that core spiritual wisdom of various religions converge, and the spiritual wisdom converges with the utmost findings of social, life and natural sciences. We call this converged knowledge base as holistic science. Narratives, imagery and terminology s may differ but essence is the same.
This convergence of the so called sacred and the secular is fit to be called holistic science as it applies to the whole of the universe. In fact, it applies to the behaviour of all life forms from the primitive to the most evolved. The beauty of our recognition of the existence of the holistic science is that we can now mix references to different scriptures in the same sentence to deepen interfaith dialog. In addition, it unifies science and spiritual wisdom highlighting the application of critical reason in the domain of faith, not all faith but wisdom underlying faith. Wisdom transcends critical reason without diminishing or denying it. Critical reason may tend to be particular, reductionist, definite, divisive and exclusive while wisdom can reach beyond such particularity to be holistic, unitive and inclusive.
According to holistic science, humans can possibly exist in four states, three of which namely waking, dreaming and dreamless sleep state are natural. The fourth state is the contemplative state which we enter deliberately with a conscious effort. This fourth state is the state of super awareness in which we can realize holistic secrets not accessible in other states.
